The ear corrections using the stitch method are performed by Dr. W. Merck, ENT and plastic surgery specialist, and by Dr. med (Uni. Simferopol) Youssef Zidan, who was trained by Dr. Merck.

• Medical studies at the University Clinic in Freiburg in Breisgau
• 1969 to 1970 – resident physician at the Pathology Institute of the University of Freiburg in Breisgau
• 1971 to 1978 – trained as an ENT (ear,nose and throat) physician and plastic surgeon at the ENT Clinic of the University of Freiburg in Breisgau where he later became resident and senior physician
• 1978 – obtained his professorship at the Medical Faculty of the University of Freiburg in Breisgau
• Since 1978 – local ENT physician and plastic surgeon in Konstanz
• 1978 to 2003 – Director of the ENT department at the Vincentius Hospital in Konstanz and at the Konstanz Clinic
• 1996 – first surgery using the “Dr. Merck stitch method”
• 1999 to 2000 – introduction of the new stitch method at conventions, and also reports in the media (including live surgeries on many German TV channels, and on a Swiss channel and several Spanish TV channels)
• 1996 to the present – over 6000 successful ear correction surgeries with the “Dr. Merck stitch method”
• 2000 – opening of own surgical practice for protruding ears in Konstanz
• 2005 – opening of the Dr. Merck Ear Correction System (ECS) in Germany
• 2005 to 2014 – ear correction surgeries in clinics in Mallorca, Madrid and Tenerife
• Member of the German Academy for Cosmetic Surgery e.V. Cologne
• Member of the "RealSelf community" with status: "Participating Member"

• 1988 – 1995 Medical studies at the Simferopol University Hospital.
• 1995 - 1999 Resident physician at the Central Hospital of the Syrian Ministry of Health, Damascus, where he trained as a specialist in family medicine
• 1999 - 2001 Registered specialist in family medicine in Damascus
• 2001 - 2007 Resident physician in the ENT department of the AK St. Georg Hospital, Hamburg, where he received training as a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine

Since 2008 - ENT specialist at the Bitterfeld/Wolfen Health Centre, Medical Care Centre in Düsseldorf, and Asklepios Klinik St. Georg in Hamburg.

Since 2020 - intensive training in minimally invasive aesthetic treatments with Botox, filler and suture facelifting

Since 2023, he has been personally trained in this method by Dr. Merck.
